Christine Metcalfe from Loch Avich, a determined and strategic campaigner against wind turbines, this year saw her pioneering use of the Aarhus Convention, to which the UK is a signatory, bring her a telling victory at UNECE over both of the UK and Scottish governments.
They were found to be in neglect of the responsibilities required of them in providing due information to the public in relation to wind farm policy, applications and consents.
Christine Metcalfe’s reasoned achievement is recognised today, 5th December, when she makes an invited presentation to the annual Holyrood Freedom of Information & European Information Association [EIA] conference.
The invitation was to address this conference in relation to her Aarhus complaint, the decision from which (on UK
non-compliance), has now been ratified.
Accepting the invitation presents an opportunity for Christine to share information which is possibly new to some.
